Posted 10/8/2016

It’s chilly out (by Waiheke standards) but toasty warm inside.  There has been great excitement this month for island residents...

with the new Countdown supermarket opening in Ostend.

Looking forward to spring there is the Waiheke Garden Safari  on 12th and 13th November with early bird tickets offering a $10 discount if purchased before 24 October.  This fundraising event is a unique opportunity for the public to see some of Waiheke’s most gorgeous gardens.

Also coming up is the Waiheke Walking Festival from the 19th to 27th November.  This event is FREE but some of the walks do fill up to maximum numbers so it’s recommended to subscribe to their newsletter to keep ahead of when bookings open.  The new Te Ara Hura walking track is an incredible achievement that enables people to have access to much more of the island than before.  The guided walks add another opportunity for finding out about the area.

Don’t forget that Crosstrees is offering Waiheke accommodation for the special rate of three nights for the price of two until the end of September.   For the latest special offers and Waiheke Island reviews feel free to give us a like on our facebook page.

Happy holidays,
