Time for Summer

Posted 23/11/2017

Vege Stack Vege Stack Exams are over and it’s time for Summer!  This means a lot more dining alfresco in the evenings.  This photo was taken at

The Boathouse at Onetangi last Friday – a vegetarian option with my dining companions declaring the steak and ribs to also be divine choices on the menu.

Beach Races

Speaking of Onetangi, the popular Onetangi Beach Races are set for Sunday 11th February 2018. Featuring not just horse racing, there are also races for tractors, Segways. The unique Sealegs race is a highlight.  Enjoy a fabulous day at the beach with non-stop entertainment.  Maybe you would like to dress up and enter Fashion in the Field?  All funds raised go to Rotary Waiheke.  You can keep up to date with details as they are released on the Onetangi Beach Races facebook page .

Waiheke Wine and Food Festival

A few weeks later on Saturday 3rd March, 2018 is Waiheke’s annual Wine and Food Festival. This popular annual event is again scheduled to be at Te Motu Vineyard – only a short taxi ride from here.   Watch their website for updates in the new year or check out their facebook page

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Summer’s long weekends.  Auckland Anniversary Day falls on Monday, 29th January 2018, Easter weekend 29th March to 2nd April and Queens Birthday weekend 1st to 4th June.
